Red Gram Dal
Ingredients:
Red gram(Thuvaraparippu) - 1 1/2 cups
Water - 2 1/2 cups
Green chillies(chopped) - 5 nos
Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp or as reqd
Turmeric powder - A pinch
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 8 nos
Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1/2 cup
Yoghurt/Curd - 1 cup
Olive oil or Ghee - 1 tsp
Tomato(sliced) - 2 nos
Directions
1)Cook the red gram or dal in a pressure cooker, upto 3 whistles.
2)After opening the lid, add ginger paste, garlic paste, green chillies, turmeric powder, tomatoes, curry leaves and cumin seeds.
3)Allow it to boil.
4)Add salt and yoghurt and boil again.
5)Add a tsp of olive oil or ghee.
6)Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
