Mustard Fish Curry
Ingredients: 3/4 Kg Fish (Rahu) 11/2 tsp - yellow mustard seeds 7-8 cloves garlic 2 cups curds 2 medium onions 2 medium tomatoes 3 green chillies 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds 1/2 cup coriander leaves Mustard Oil for deep frying Salt (as per taste) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder Method Put yello mustard seeds and soak it in 1/2 cup water for 15 mins. Wash the fish and marinate it with tumeric powder and salt. set it aside for 15/20 mins. Grind garlic, green chillies, yellow mustard seeds, and corriander leaves into a paste with no or very little water. then blend this paste with 2 cups dahi and 1 cup water. After blending strain this paste and keep it aside. Deep fry the fish in mustard oil till golden brown. Take another pan, put remianing mustard oil. After the oil is hot add black mustard seeds and let it crackle. then add finely chopped onions and saute till they change colour, then add tomatoes and little turmeric power and salt to taste (be careful while adding salt as the fried fish already has salt). Saute the tomotes till they are done. Reduce the flame and add the garlic-mustrad-curds paste into it. Add little water if necesary. Also add fried fish and boil the curry for 5 mins on medium flame, then reduce the flame and let it simmer for another 3-4 mins. Serve it with Steamed rice. |
